making the right connections
(Posted on 15/07/19)UCML were appointed on an extra care scheme off Halkyn Road, Holywell, which will consist of 55 new apartments on completion. The scheme will offer 24-hour on-site care for individuals aged 50+ who require extra support. Built at the site of the former Perth y Terfyn school, the development aims to occupy its first residents in 2020. Interestingly, brick and concrete from the demolition of the former school were crushed and recycled on site to reuse in the new development, promoting sustainability of waste. UCML were appointed following the demolition of the previous site. Although previous utilities were all disconnected, an initial review found that telecom diversions were required. UCML coordinated the diversion and ensured the client saved costs through attaining competitive quotations for the diversion works. UCML also obtained quotations for temporary supplies of electricity and water to the site to aid with construction work. UCML then went on to procure quotations for new connections to the site which included electricity, gas, water and telecom utilities.
